Permaculture Design, Earthworks and Regenerative Agriculture

We’re excited to be offering permaculture design and implementation as part of our business. Our designs seek to mimic natural ecosystems to create stable, closed loop systems that maintain themselves and regenerate the land while simultaneously providing food security or income. At this stage we charge $1000 for a permaculture design which includes an on-site visit, detailed plan and extensive supporting information to explain the design and how to implement it.

Permaculture Design, consultation and implementation

We offer a flexible range of options for people looking to implement permaculture practices into their gardens and properties. Whether you’re looking for some general advice, a small garden design, a full scale rural property design or anything in between, we can help. Getting some advice or a design is only half the job. Getting your hands dirty and implementing the ideas is where the real fun begins. Having the time and the hands required to implement your plan can be hard, especially on a weekender. We can support and guide you through the implementation process as well as source and supply a range of specialty support plants.

Permaculture Earthworks

For anyone who has considered undertaking or implementing permaculture earthworks you’d be familiar with the seemingly daunting task that you are faced with. Do I need a machine or can it be done by hand? Can I use a machine myself? What machine is best? What size machine do I need? Is there a machine operator that understands the purpose and function of permaculture earthworks? These are just some of the questions that prevented us from getting work done on our own property. As practitioners of permaculture we discovered that best way to answer these questions was to jump in and try it all for ourselves. Swales, brush contours and Hugal beds can be constructed to suit any size property. We can advise, measure, install, excavate and implement these or teach you how do undertake them yourself.

Regenerative Agriculture

Regenerative agriculture is a fairly broad term that covers any agricultural approach that focuses on improving the quality of your land. Setting up closed loop systems to minimise your inputs and improve your land drives down your costs, increasing your margins. Learning how to utilize and implement techniques such as rotational grazing, mixed species grazing, cover cropping, tree systems and water slowing techniques are all key to improving fertility and productivity.

Weed Consultation

More often than not the plants that we call weeds are growing in unhealthy soils. Not only do your weeds tell you a story about your soil and what it needs but often your weeds are actively working to fix these problems. We like to work with weeds to improve soil and ecosystem health and there are a number of ways we can do this. We can offer solutions to regenerate your land which is the only way to achieve long term weed control.
